The Beidou satellite navigation and positioning system is developed by China itself, the use of geosynchronous satellite a new, all-weather, regional satellite positioning and communications systems, in addition to the U.S. global positioning system (GPS), Russia's GLONASS after the third Mature satellite navigation system.

   Beidou system has three main aspects of the main functions:
• rapid positioning: In order to service customers in the region to provide all-weather,  real-time location-based services, positioning accuracy and a GPS.
• short message communication: one can send•bytes   120 bytesof  information.
• precision timing: the accuracy of 20 nanoseconds.

     At present, China has satellite navigation and positioning application industry and communications systems industrialization projects included in the state's key new product projects and national demonstration project of high-tech industries, clearly included in the national "11th Five-Year Plan", as satellite navigation and positioning application industry's key One of the core technologies.
